About Monarch Readers
We believe that beginning readers deserve phonetically-controlled, beautiful books. While children learn to read, we also want them to learn that reading is fun. Children deserve “mirrors” that help them see the beauty in themselves, as well as “windows” that help them see the beauty in the world around them. Monarch Readers were written by two teachers from Magnolia Montessori For All, which is a free-public Montessori school in Austin, Texas.

Monarch Readers are published by Montessori for All, a nonprofit based in Austin, Texas. Montessori For All seeks to build a more just and peaceful world. We cultivate diverse leaders of the future who find purpose and joy in their own lives and advocate for others to be able to do the same. We do this by dramatically increasing the number of children who have access to transformational public schools that include academic equity through personalized learning, embedded social and emotional learning, and diverse and culturally sustaining communities.
