The Shared Environment's Readers conduct a peer-review of each product before it is listed in the marketplace.

The Readers' purpose is to screen products for relevance to the Montessori method, as they came to understand it through their training. The Readers make no claims about durability, safety, or efficacy of products; they are simply affirming that, according to their own albums, a product is relevant to the practice of the Montessori method.

The beauty of the Readers' work is that it ripples throughout the Montessori practitioner community. When one Reader peer-reviews a product, it lightens the mental load for the thousands of guides who are shopping for that product.
