Map the Gap™ Product Submissions Policy
By submitting any product idea, concept, design, suggestion, description, sketch, prototype information, or other materials (collectively, a “Submission”) through the Map the Gap process, you acknowledge and agree to the following terms:
1. Non-Confidential Submission
All Submissions are made on a non-confidential basis.
The Shared Environment does not accept or treat Submissions as confidential, proprietary, or secret information. By submitting a Submission, you understand that the information may be shared with third parties, including potential suppliers, manufacturers, or commercial partners.
No confidential, fiduciary, agency, or other special relationship is created between you and The Shared Environment as a result of your Submission.
2. Role of The Shared Environment
The Shared Environment acts solely as an intermediary platform that may forward product ideas to third-party suppliers or manufacturers for their independent evaluation.
The Shared Environment does not design, develop, manufacture, or commercialize products arising from Submissions and does not control whether any supplier chooses to develop, produce, or sell any product.
3. No Intellectual Property Rights Created
Submitting a Submission through the Map the Gap process does not grant you any intellectual property rights in any product, feature, improvement, design, or technology that may later be developed, produced, marketed, or sold by any supplier or third party.
Any intellectual property rights in products that may be independently developed, manufactured, or commercialized by suppliers remain solely with the party that develops or owns those rights.
The Shared Environment does not claim ownership of your Submission and does not determine or control intellectual property rights associated with any resulting products.
4. No Obligation or Compensation
Neither The Shared Environment nor any supplier has any obligation to:
-
review or evaluate your Submission
-
develop or manufacture a product based on your Submission
-
provide feedback regarding your Submission
-
enter into any business relationship with you
-
compensate you in any manner
You acknowledge that suppliers may independently develop products that are similar or identical to ideas submitted through the Map the Gap process.
5. Permission to Share Submission
By submitting a Submission, you grant The Shared Environment permission to forward, disclose, and share your Submission with suppliers, manufacturers, and other third parties for evaluation or potential commercialization.
6. No Responsibility for Intellectual Property Matters
The Shared Environment does not provide intellectual property advice and is not responsible for determining ownership, inventorship, patentability, or other intellectual property rights relating to any Submission or resulting product.
Any intellectual property matters arising from a Submission are solely between the submitter and any third party that may develop or commercialize a product.
7. Your Representations
You represent that:
-
you have the right to submit the Submission; and
-
submitting the Submission does not violate the intellectual property or other rights of any third party.
8. Voluntary Participation
